Crystal Palace's Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a man in hot demand once again this summer, with the likes of Sunderland, Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers, Luton Town and QPR all keen to land his signature.

This is according to a recent Patreon report from Alan Nixon (via the Sunderland Echo), who forecasts an imminent transfer showdown in the coming weeks.

Rak-Sakyi is set for a second loan spell away from Selhurst Park next term, having previously made a lasting impression with League One outfit Charlton Athletic in the 2021/22 campaign.

The winger scored 15 goals and made a further eight assists for the Addicks, but remained at Palace last term to provide ample - if rarely called upon - squad depth behind former EFL stars in Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

With his dazzling displays at the Valley still fresh in the minds of many, QPR will be hoping that they have a particularly favourable shot at the swoop given that they are, to date, the only London representative in for Rak-Sakyi.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a real talent

Football League World's resident R's fan pundit Louis Moir certainly subscribes to the excitement around Rak-Sakyi, and believes that he holds the answer to many of the side's current attacking deficiencies.

"Rak-Sakyi from Palace looks a real talented player, he was obviously superb at Charlton on loan and scored quite a few goals as well, which is impressive," he explained.

"One thing I've been crying out for is pace. We lack so much pace in this team, especially out wide.

"We've got Paul Smyth, but he's not necessarily good enough, especially to start games, so we need pace, we need probably one if not two wingers.

"If Chris Willock doesn't sign on we'd obviously need a replacement for him.

"Obviously, there's going to be a lot of interest in Rak-Sakyi, but I'm hoping that moving to London would help us.

"It's no surprise a lot of clubs are looking at him because he looks a proper talent, but if we were to manage to get him on loan, then that would be a fantastic addition and something we desperately need, it would add so much more to our team.

"I think Cifuentes wants to play with wingers ideally, and he's not really had that, so there's no surprise that we're going to be looking at that position.

"I think he'd be superb and fit in really well, and Cifuentes would get him playing.

"He looks a real exciting player and I really hope we can go for someone like him because it's what we need."

Crystal Palace's Jesurun Rak-Sakyi would be a statement of intent from QPR

Admittedly, they face stern competition and Luton, for example, who were only recently relegated from the Premier League and will naturally be well-tipped in the promotion race next season, will fancy their chances of winning the race.

Louis is correct to note the potential geographical persuasion that could come into play, though.

Parent clubs are invariably eager to ensure a smooth transition and cohesive environment for their youngsters while they're out on loan, which was evident in Palace's decision to send Rak-Sakyi across South London to Charlton and could well be provided by QPR, too.

To add to that, we're talking about a very exciting prospect who bears every likelihood of translating his League One exploits into the Championship, meaning that QPR would most certainly outline their 2024/25 ambitions by picking up Rak-Sakyi under the noses of their divisional rivals.
