Inter Milan travel down south as they face Hellas Verona in Serie A on Sunday.
Both sides will be looking to secure all three points as Inter look to keep pace with Napoli and Roma at the top of the table.
The hosts are dealing with a lengthy injury list heading into this fixture. Defender Unai Nunez remains sidelined, alongside midfielders Al Musrati, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Grigoris Kastanos. Additionally, midfielder Suat Serdar could be a doubt due to a muscular issue. If Serdar doesn’t play, then Cheikh Niasse or Moatasem Musrati might get the nod in the starting XI. Fellow midfielder Tomas Suslov and defender Daniel Oyegoke are also unavailable. Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro suffered an injury during the warm-up ahead of their recent clash with Como, further depleting Verona’s already depleted squad.
Marcus Thuram has returned to full training and is now available for selection after spending an entire month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury sustained during Inter’s 3-0 victory over Slavia Prague in the Champions League at the end of September. However, the French striker is expected to begin the match against Verona on the bench as a precaution. Meanwhile, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and defender Matteo Darmian remain sidelined, though Inter do not appear to have sustained any fresh injuries.
Hellas Verona continue to struggle significantly, having failed to win any of their nine Serie A matches so far this season. The home side fell to a 3-1 defeat against Como at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on Wednesday, with Paolo Zanetti’s men picking up only five draws and four defeats to accumulate just five points.
Verona’s attacking record has been particularly concerning, netting just five goals in nine matches – the joint-third poorest in the league. Defensively, the Gialloblù have conceded 14 goals this season.
Inter bounced back impressively from their 3-1 defeat to Napoli by demolishing Fiorentina 3-0 at the San Siro on Wednesday evening. The Nerazzurri now sit third in the Serie A table with 18 points from nine matches, three points behind joint-leaders Napoli and Roma.
The Nerazzurri have won all but one of their last six league games, with their only recent setback being the loss at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on 25th October.
Hellas Verona: Montipò; Bella-Kotchap, Nelsson, Valentini; Belghali, Serdar, Gagliardini, Bernede, Frese; Giovane, Orban
Inter Milan: Sommer; Akanji, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Çalhanoğlu, Sucic, Augusto; Bonny, Lautaro Martinez
The fixture will be broadcast on DAZN across the United Kingdom, which holds exclusive rights to all Serie A matches this season.
