Her Game Too France has announced an anti-sexism scheme for bars screening the World Cup in France, aiming to make venues safe and inclusive from 11 June to 19 July.

Around 20 establishments have already joined in Paris, Bordeaux, Saint-Étienne, Saint-Ouen and Pantin, according to AFP.

The association, already a partner of the LFP and several Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs, is urging more bars to take part. It asks venues to show a public commitment to tackling sexist and sexual violence, provide a reporting form, and train staff to support victims.

The programme centres on awareness and reporting so everyone can enjoy the tournament without feeling at risk.

Agathe, a Her Game Too France volunteer overseeing the rollout, said major sporting events should bring people together regardless of gender, and that mobilising bars and festive venues sends a clear message that sexism and violence have no place in stands or in places where sport is celebrated.
