Here we go – Barcelona set to sign Premier League winger for €70m plus add-ons | OneFootball

FC Barcelona have seemingly secured their first signing of the upcoming summer transfer window, with Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United on his way to Catalonia.

Murmurs of an agreement had been doing the rounds in recent hours and now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given his trademark ‘Here we go’ seal for the transfer.

€70 million plus bonuses

As per the Italian journalist, Barcelona and Newcastle United have reached an agreement for Gordon over a deal worth €70 million plus add-ons.

As such, the total cost of the operation is expected to land at just slightly over €80 million.

The bid has been accepted by the Newcastle board as well as the club’s owners in Saudi Arabia, meaning the deal is now all but closed.

After all, as already reported, Gordon and Barcelona have already agreed personal terms.

Medicals this week

In fact, with the negotiations getting wrapped up, the La Liga champions have already pencilled in Gordon for his medicals this week.

The idea is to complete all formalities, including the medical check-ups and contract signing, before the 25-year-old winger flies off to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In fact, the forward could be set to fly to Barcelona from England as early as tomorrow.

Gordon is coming on the back of an impressive season with Newcastle, during which he scored 17 goals in all competitions.

Capable of playing on the left flank or even as a centre-forward, the Englishman brings versatility to the table, along with his aggressive pressing, physicality and speed, making him a good fit into Hansi Flick’s setup.
