“Here we go”: Fabrizio Romano confirms deal struck to take former United star to Aston Villa

Former Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has secured another move this summer.
The Congolese defender joined the club from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019.
The 28-year-old played a total of five seasons at Old Trafford and was a regular starter during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time at the club.
He made a total of 190 appearances for the club and scored two goals.
His most productive season was in the 2020-21 campaign, when he played an impressive total of 54 matches for the Red Devils.
The right-back was sold under Erik ten Hag after losing his place in the starting line-up and joined West Ham United.
The full-back played 65 matches for the Irons, scoring two goals. Nonetheless, after the Hammers were relegated at the end of last season, his future at the club was in serious doubt.
Wan-Bissaka impressed at the World Cup for Congo, especially against England and his former teammate Marcus Rashford.
He was linked to numerous Premier League teams including champions Arsenal, but it now seems one team has secured his signature for the coming season.
Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has posted on his X account that, “Aston Villa agree deal to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham, here we go!”
He added, “deal in place on loan with mandatory buy clause, green light from the player to Villa project. Agreement between all parties.”
The defender has also received the “green light for his medical.”
Wan-Bissaka will now have the opportunity to play in the Champions League once again were a move to transpire in the coming days.
