Manchester City have reportedly reached a full agreement over the transfer of Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, according to multiple reliable journalists.
RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins broke the story about Man City and Lille agreeing a fee of €100m, while Fabrizio Romano further posted about the deal with his trademark ‘here we go’.
See below for details as City look to be closing in on the Morocco international after a lengthy saga of targeting him to bolster their options in midfield…
“EXCLUSIVE : Full agreement reached between Lille and Manchester City for Ayyoub Bouaddi. Deal worth €100m including add-ons. A record-breaking transfer for Lille. He won’t play today against Angers,” Hawkins posted.
@FabriceHawkins reports. Green light from Lille to the sale. Bouaddi agreed terms with City in July and now set to join #MCFC project,” Romano posted.
City have invested heavily in two new midfielders this summer with deals for Bouaddi and also for Elliot Anderson earlier in the window.
This comes as Rodri has left MCFC for a move to Barcelona in what could potentially be a big blow for the club as they already have to recover and bounce back from the departure of Pep Guardiola.
Enzo Maresca has come in and has a big job on his hands, but it certainly helps to be able to spend big on some of the best talents in world football.
Bouaddi has shown himself to be an outstanding prospect who surely has a big future in the game, while Anderson was immense for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last season.
Together, they should be able to help replace Rodri, in a way that one player probably never could have.
