Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin have given permission to central-defender Omar Alderete (25) to train with his personal trainer in Spain as the Bundesliga club search for a buyer, according to Bild.
Alderete spent last season on loan at Valencia, where he played 34 games in all competitions, and would prefer a move back to the Spanish side, who decided against activating their €7.5m purchase option on the Paraguayan defender. Alderete is allowed to leave, but Hertha want to make a profit on the €4m they paid in 2020.
Hertha would prefer to sell Alderete rather than loan the central-defender out again and although initial discussions had taken place with Bologna, the player prefers a return to Spain.
With three weeks of the transfer window remaining, Hertha are hoping to find buyers for Krzysztof Piątek and Dedryck Boyata, both of whom are also allowed to leave the club.
