Hertha extend Josip Brekalo deal to 2028 as Jeremy Dudziak joins Beijing Guoan

Hertha BSC have extended Josip Brekalo's contract to 2028, while former Hertha midfielder Jeremy Dudziak has joined Beijing Guoan.
According to BuLi News, Hertha confirmed an early renewal for the former Croatia international, who arrived from Real Oviedo at the start of 2026. It is his second extension with the capital club after impressing in the second half of last season.
The revision builds on the extra year he signed at the end of May.
Brekalo has 35 Croatia caps, last appearing in 2023 while at Fiorentina. The 28-year-old midfielder scored 17 goals in 122 Bundesliga matches for Stuttgart and Wolfsburg.
In his first months in the 2. Bundesliga he recorded three goals and two assists in 11 games, but two red cards curtailed his involvement for the promotion chasers.
Dudziak, 30, has moved to Beijing Guoan after making 10 appearances for Hertha in 2025/26. Apart from a six-month loan at Hatayspor in 2023 in Türkiye, his senior career had been spent in Germany.
He came through Borussia Dortmund’s academy and has played more than 200 games across the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
Beijing Guoan brought in Portuguese defender Gui Ramos from Hamburg at the start of the year. The Super Cup winners are seventh after beginning the campaign with a points deduction, one of nine clubs punished for violations of sports ethics and loss of sportsmanship.
