Football pundit Gary Neville praised Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres for his impressive performance against Tottenham. The Gunners beat their city rivals 4-1 in the North London derby with goals from Eberechi Eze and Gyokeres.

Mikel Arteta’s side were under pressure after their recent 2-2 draw against Wolves but they showed no signs of nervousness and showed their quality at the top level by beating their arch rivals in a convincing manner.

The win restored Arsenal’s lead over City to five points, with City playing a game less than Arteta’s side.

More than that, it showed that the Gunners are ready for the title challenge in the final stages of the season.

Neville picked Gyokeres as one of the best performers for the Gunners against Tottenham.

‘He looks really lively and smart, Gyokeres,’ Neville said, as reported by Metro.

‘It’s the best I’ve seen him for a while. It’s a great moment for him. He’s still got a lot to do when it comes to him – and he hasn’t always been smooth – but it’s a wonderful finish.

‘Gyokeres has had one of his best games for Arsenal, he’s been a real nuisance. It’s the best I’ve seen him in a big game.

Gyokeres showed his physicality, his finishing quality and his presence of mind against Spurs.

It was a must win match for Arsenal considering how City are right behind them in the title race having closed the gap on them.

Gyokeres delievered when it mattered but Arteta and his staff would be hoping the same from the attacker in the coming matches.

The Gunners host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium next week and Gyokeres would be looking to keep up his form in another big match for Arteta’s team.
