Early in the second half, Felix Passlack struck the post for Hibs. Shamal George then pushed away a long-range effort from Jamie McGrath as St Mirren looked for a response.

Substitute Ante Šuto, introduced just after the hour, swept in from close range to double the lead (66.).

Miguel Chaiwa was forced off injured later in the second half, with Kai Andrews coming on.

Hibs had 58.8% possession and registered six efforts on target. St Mirren produced seven attempts, testing the goalkeeper twice.

Next, Hibs visit Celtic in the league. St Mirren host Motherwell.
