Brentford defender Aaron Hickey has been recalled to the Scotland squad after almost two-years following a long-term injury.
Hickey, 23, missed more than 18 months due to a hamstring tear that required major surgery, ruling him out of Euro 2024. His last appearance for Scotland came against Spain in October 2023.
New Bournemouth player Ben Gannon Doak, and club-mate Ryan Christie both return after missing the previous camp in June. Gannon Doak returns for the first time since November.
Steve Clarke’s men will be heading to Denmark before a trip to face Belarus in Hungary as the Tartan Army look to qualify for their first World Cup since 1998.
Blackburn Rovers’ Dominic Hyam returns for the first time in two years, with Hibernian’s Grant Hanley, captain Andy Robertson of Liverpool, Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and John Souttar of Rangers also included.
However, there is no space for Everton’s Nathan Patterson or Ryan Porteous who has just moved to Los Angeles. Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland is a surprise exclusion from the squad, with in-form Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie and Birmingham City forward Lyndon Dykes being called up.
Five players in the squad feature in Serie A, after Lennon Miller’s move to Udinese this summer. He is joined by Ballon d’Or nominee Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour of Napoli, Lewis Ferguson of Bologna and Che Adams of Torino.
Goalkeepers: Zander Clark (Hearts), Angus Gunn (Nottingham Forest), Liam Kelly (Rangers).
Defenders: Grant Hanley (Hibernian), Jack Hendry (Al Etiffaq), Aaron Hickey (Brentford), Dominic Hyam (Blackburn Rovers), Max Johnston (Sturm Graz), Scott McKenna (Dinamo Zagreb), Anthony Ralston (Celtic), Andy Robertson (Liverpool), John Souttar (Rangers), Kieran Tierney (Celtic).
Midfielders: Ryan Christie (Bournemouth), Lewis Ferguson (Bologna), Ben Gannon Doak (Bournemouth), Billy Gilmour (Napoli), John McGinn (Aston Villa), Kenny McLean (Norwich), Scott McTominay (Napoli), Lennon Miller (Udinese).
Forwards: Che Adams (Torino), Kieron Bowie (Hibernian), Lyndon Dykes (Birmingham), George Hirst (Ipswich).
