Himad Abdelli’s (25) contract at SCO Angers is coming to an end at the end of the current campaign. According to a report from L’Équipe, the Ligue 1 side are now trying to extend the Algerian’s deal.
Abdelli has become an important element in Angers’ team and is one of the main reasons why they succeeded in staying up last season. The playmaker has endured an injury-hit start to the current campaign, but Le Sco are still desperate to keep the Algeria international.
The contract offer handed to Abdelli included a wage increase, and it would have made him the highest-paid player at the club. However, this offer has not been accepted by the player, who is giving himself the time to weigh up opportunities elsewhere.
Abdelli could therefore sign for a new club in the summer and he is able to sign a pre-contract agreement from January. As per L’Équipe, he is prioritising the sporting aspect of any proposition.
