Blackburn Rovers forward Sam Gallagher has been linked with a move away from Ewood Park, with Ipswich Town, Luton Town and Swansea City all being credited with interest in his service by the Express.

The 28-year-old has plied his trade for the Lancashire side since joining from Southampton in 2019 and is a popular figure at Rovers, but amid injury issues, he managed just three goals in 24 Championship games last season.

Gallagher's contract with John Eustace's side is due to expire in 2025, so this summer presents the last opportunity for his club to cash in on their man.

"Ipswich Town are still said to be interested in signing Sam Gallagher.

"Kieran McKenna tried to sign Sam in the January transfer window, several bids were turned down by Blackburn.

"But now, the problem is that Sam is entering the final year of his contract.

"Blackburn won't allow the 28-year-old to run his contract down and leave on a free.

"Therefore clubs that are interested in signing him, which a lot are.

"Luton Town and Swansea, to name two, are interested in his signature.

"They know they're going to get a cut-price for him because obviously his contract is up next summer.

"Kieran McKenna is said to still be keen on Sam, and believes he could do a job in the Premier League.

"The problem being now for Sam, he has had an injury-ravaged season, he will want to play football, and will he now look at Ipswich Town?

"They're going to make signings, obviously, with getting promoted back to the Premier League.

"Will he look at how his gametime is going to be limited there?

"So, would he prefer to be going to somewhere like Luton Town or Swansea, where he'll be playing regularly?

"Luton Town will be pushing for automatic promotion again next season, and he'll be playing regularly.

"It's clear to say that his future is not at Blackburn, I don't think he'll be at Blackburn come the end of the summer transfer window.

"It remains to be seen where he'll end up, but the lure of playing in the Premier League will obviously attract him because every player wants to play in the Premier League, but also they want to play regular football.

"Ipswich will look at this as a regularly cheap deal for Sam in terms of the transfer fee, and his wages.

"I think a fee in the region of about £8m would probably see him leave Blackburn Rovers this summer."

With Gallagher attracting suitors, including Premier League bound Ipswich, the Ewood Park outfit will seemingly have to sell him this summer prior to the expiration of his contract this time next year.

But the forward is not the only man who could be tempted away from Rovers this summer, as the club's talisman Sammie Szmodics has been linked with a move to Scottish giants Celtic by Football Insider.

The Ireland international scored 27 goals last season, while without his contributions, Eustace's side would surely have been relegated to League One.

The Lancashire outfit may find it hard to adjust to life without Gallagher and Szmodics, but such a prospect could soon become reality.
