Historic double earns Miguel Coelho coach of the year award

Miguel Coelho, head coach of FC Porto’s women’s team, was named Coach of the Year by the National Association of Volleyball Coaches during the organization’s 28th meeting.

The 38-year-old coach won the domestic double in Portuguese volleyball by claiming both the National Championship and the Portuguese Cup, in an unprecedented achievement. “It’s a trophy that ends up in my hands, but it represents the work of many people who don’t get seen,” he said.
