FC Bayern have shot themselves into the history books with another gala performance. In a commanding 5-0 win against FC St. Pauli, the Munich side broke a historic record – and also delighted Uli Hoeneß
Leon Goretzka’s goal to make it 2-0 in the 53rd minute was the 102nd goal of the season in the Bundesliga. The record champions thus surpassed the legendary mark from the 1971/72 season, when they scored 101 goals. But that was not all: further goals from Michael Olise, Nicolas Jackson and Raphael Guerreiro took Bayern’s new record to an impressive 105 goals
For Uli Hoeneß, who himself was part of the historic team from the 1970s, this moment had a special significance. „Football is about titles, records are a minor matter. But the fact that this team has now broken our mark of 101 goals after so many decades says a lot,“ explained the honorary president
Hoeneß not only emphasized the offensive power of the current team, but also their mentality. He was particularly impressed by the fact that the team did not let up even when the score was clear: „What I like best is that these players don’t stop, they keep going even after the 4th or 5th goal.“

In addition to the established top performers, Hoeneß is also looking to the future. With talents such as Lennart Karl and Jamal Musiala, he believes the club is ideally positioned. „That shows that FC Bayern is also equipped for the future,“ emphasized the 74-year-old
It is precisely this mixture of young players and experienced managers that currently appears to be the key to success. Under coach Vincent Kompany, the record champions are not only hungry for goals, but also consistently performing at the highest level
In the end, the conclusion is clear: FC Bayern has not only broken an age-old record – it has also sent out a statement to its national and international rivals. And if Uli Hoeneß has his way, this is by no means the end of the story.
