Brayan Gil helped El Salvador tie the game as he chipped a defender in the box and then the goalkeeper, forcing Anfernee Dijksteel to try to make a tough play on the line which resulted in an own goal in the 73’.

El Salvador was pushing for a go-ahead goal with the home crowd behind them, but it was Suriname that got a stunner to quiet the Cuscatlán, thanks to a winning strike from Dhoraso Klas in the 81’.
