Bayer Leverkusen head coach Hjulmand hailed his side after a 1-1 first-leg draw with Arsenal, despite conceding a late equaliser.
According to BuLi News, he said he had mixed emotions, felt Leverkusen played well, stayed active in possession and gave up few chances.
He described it as a top performance against a top team, admitted the draw was frustrating, and said they will travel to London with high hopes. He also suggested Arsenal are under pressure as favourites, and that his side want to cause an upset.
Christian Kofane, 19, impressed even though he was not directly involved in the goal, and believes the Rhineland club have reason for optimism.
He felt anything could happen, noting they faced one of the best sides in the world and pushed them to the brink. He said that should provide hope for next week, while warning the task will not be easy.
