Kasper Hjulmand signalled plans to rotate for Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga meeting with 1. FC Union Berlin, citing a heavy run of fixtures.

According to BuLi News, the Dane named the same starting XI that beat FC St. Pauli 4-0 for Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League win over Olympiacos.

Speaking after the match in Greece, he said the three-day gap between the two games allowed some continuity from the start.

With three more matches in the next 10 days, he accepted change is required. “It can’t go on like this, that’s not possible,” Hjulmand said, pointing to alterations for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash.

He also underlined the depth available, noting a strong bench and a large, high-quality squad. “We have a good bench with quality players. We have a large squad and high quality, so it’s possible for us to rotate,” he added.
