Celtic went top from fourth with a 5-1 win at Kilmarnock on Sunday at Rugby Park, Kasper Hoegh firing a first half hat-trick in a dominant Scottish Premiership display.

Hoegh opened the scoring in the second minute, glancing in Arne Engels' cross. He then finished from Benjamin Nygren's pass (33.) before completing his treble with a close-range header from a Camilo Durán break (35.).

After the restart, Nygren rifled in from the centre of the box (47.). Michael Schjønning-Larsen pulled one back for Kilmarnock (56.) from Tom Lowery's pass, but substitute Luke McCowan restored the cushion with a tidy finish following a corner (75.).

Durán had earlier struck the bar as the Bhoys kept pressing (49.). Kilmarnock lost Schjønning-Larsen to injury soon after his goal, with Mark O'Hara introduced (74.).

The Bhoys posted 33 attempts, 16 on target, and had 64% of the ball. Kilmarnock recorded 10 attempts with six on target.

Hoegh is now on three league goals, leading the Scottish Premiership scoring chart, while Nygren sits third with two.

Kilmarnock drop from ninth to 12th. Next, Kilmarnock host Ayr United in the League Cup. The Bhoys visit Dundee United in the League Cup.
