Harry Kane’s future has been on the minds of Bayern Munich officials for quite some time. The English striker’s contract expires in the summer of 2027. However, Uli Hoeneß sees no signs whatsoever that he’ll be leaving—quite the opposite. The honorary president is confident that the striker will continue to wear the record champion’s jersey beyond 2027.

Since his transfer in the summer of 2023, Harry Kane has become one of FC Bayern’s most important players. With his exceptional goal-scoring rate and his leadership role both on and off the field, the Englishman is one of Munich’s absolute top performers.

Consequently, there is a great deal of interest in his future. Since his contract runs only until the summer of 2027, there is recurring speculation about a possible departure. Uli Hoeneß, however, sees no reason for that.

During the friendly match against FC Rottach-Egern, the 74-year-old expressed optimism about the striker’s future. “I haven’t spoken directly with Harry about this yet, but I hear that he feels right at home in Munich. We also feel great having him here, and there’s really no reason why he should leave next year. At least, I can’t see one,” Hoeneß explained.

Hoeneß Hails Kane as a Role Model

In addition to his athletic qualities, Hoeneß particularly highlighted Kane’s personality. The honorary president sees the Englishman as a player who is of enormous importance to the team, far beyond his goals.

“He’s a player who is a role model in every respect—not just as a goal-scorer or a player on the field, but also as a person,” Hoeneß emphasized.

Even though concrete talks about a contract extension have not yet been publicly confirmed, Hoeneß’s statements send a clear signal. At FC Bayern, the current assumption is that Harry Kane will continue his successful partnership with the record champions. Accordingly, the club’s leadership is taking a relaxed approach to the upcoming contract negotiations, which, according to BILD, are set to begin in August after Kane returns from vacation.
