TSG Hoffenheim are ready to finalize the signing of Alessandro Vogt from FC St. Gallen, according to transfer expert Rudy Galletti. VfL Wolfsburg were also linked with the 21-year-old before the end of the winter transfer window, but the Champions League hopefuls are now preparing to make him their first summer addition.
Vogt has found the net 14 times in all competitions this season, but Hoffenheim will only have to pay less than €3 million for the transfer of the up-and-coming striker. The reason is that he has a release clause in his contract at St. Gallen.
This is his first season in professional football after getting promoted from St. Gallen’s U21 team. The attacker has already scored twice for the Switzerland U21 side in the Euros qualifiers.
St. Gallen are enjoying one of their best seasons in the Swiss Super League, although the newly-promoted side FC Thun are sitting top with a comfortable lead. Vogt is currently third in the top scorers list after the Young Boys duo Christian Fassnacht and Chris Bedia.
