As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Hoffenheim are set to sign RB Salzburg centre-back Oumar Solet.
It had previously been reported that Hoffenheim were closing in on a deal to sign the French defender as a replacement for Étienne Youte Kinkoue after a deal broke down with Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre.
However, it had appeared as though Die Kraichgauer were set to have some late competition in signing Solet, with Leicester City and VfB Stuttgart monitoring the situation, as per Fabrice Hawkins.
Nevertheless, Hoffenheim have reached an agreement with Salzburg, and Solet is set to undergo a medical with Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side later today.
It is understood that Salzburg will receive €6.5–€7 million for the 24-year-old, who had one year remaining on his deal.
It is believed that Hoffenheim will continue to push for the signing of Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap as they prepare to compete in the Europa League this season.
