Kicker report that Hoffenheim have submitted an offer of around €3m to Schalke to sign Marius Bülter.
Bülter, who has a contract at Schalke until 2025, wants to remain in the Bundesliga following S04’s relegation last season. The now 2. Bundesliga club value Bülter at €5m but as per the report, both clubs are now closer to finding an agreement.
The 30-year-old wants to play for Hoffenheim next season and is likely to sign a three-year contract until 2026.
Bülter scored 11 and created one in 33 Bundesliga games for Schalke last season, but was unable to prevent the Royal Blues from dropping back down into the 2. Bundesliga. Although the German has two-years remaining on his current deal, Schalke are reluctant in allowing the player to leave, but a departure to Sinsheim now appears inevitable.
With Andrej Kramarić the only Hoffenheim player to score double figures last season, the signing of Bülter will add firepower to TSG’s attack and will also help plug the gap in attacking-midfield following the departure of Christoph Baumgartner to RB Leipzig for €27m.
It’s also expected to be a busy transfer period for Hoffenheim after they finished the season in 12th. The Sinsheim club are working on a deal to bring former player Florian Grillitsch back to the club are Ajax decided against an extension. The Austrian is expected to sign a three-year deal.
