Hoffenheim confirm Rots signing | OneFootball

TSG Hoffenheim have completed the signing of Mats Rots from Dutch side FC Twente, with the 20-year-old left-back agreeing a long-term deal.

Managing director for sport Andreas Schicker said Rots fits the profile of a modern full-back, highlighting his tidy passing, dynamism and attacking threat.

Schicker added that the defender has the physicality for defensive duels and offers versatility in build-up play, viewing him as a young talent with significant potential in line with the club’s philosophy.

Rots said it was his clear wish to join Hoffenheim and move to one of Europe’s top three leagues, believing he can fully develop his talent in the best conditions and take further steps in his career.

He praised TSG’s record of developing young players and said the vision set out by decision-makers convinced him to move to another country and a stronger league, adding that he is especially excited that he will now be able to play in Europe with Hoffenheim.
