Hoffenheim seal capture of German youth international

18-year-old central midfielder Luis Engelns has joined TSG Hoffenheim from 2. Bundesliga side SC Paderborn with immediate effect.

“Luis is a very exciting player with excellent game intelligence and a strong presence in central midfield,” said Hoffenheim technical director Paul Pajduch.

“Despite his young age, he has already gained valuable experience in professional football. Now he can take the next step in his development here, gain important playing time in the 3. Liga, and gradually adapt to the level in the Bundesliga.”

Engelns made his professional debut for SC Paderborn in October 2024.

This season, he has featured 17 times in Germany’s second tier, scoring once, and has also made two appearances in the DFB-Pokal.
