Hoffenheim are preparing to announce their first signing for next season, with St. Gallen forward Alessandro Vogt lined up.

According to BuLi News, the Bundesliga side are ready to finalise the 21-year-old’s move, after Wolfsburg showed interest before the winter window closed.

Vogt has scored 14 times in all competitions this season, and a release clause leaves the fee at under €3 million.

This is his first professional campaign after promotion from St. Gallen’s U21s, and he has two goals for Switzerland U21 in Euros qualifying.

St. Gallen are enjoying one of their best Swiss Super League seasons, although newly promoted FC Thun currently lead by a comfortable margin. Vogt sits third in the scoring chart, behind Young Boys pair Christian Fassnacht and Chris Bedia.
