Rasmus Hojlund says that he wants to ‘replicate’ the success that his teammate Scott McTominay has found in Serie A after leaving Manchester United to join Napoli in a potential €50m move earlier this summer.
Hojlund, speaking in an interview with La Repubblica published on Friday, spoke about his new life in Naples, the challenges working under Antonio Conte, and his future goals for the rest of his career.
The Denmark international joined Napoli on loan with a potential obligation to buy in a deal that could end up costing €50m, and has hit the ground running on his return to Serie A, scoring in his Partenopei debut in a 3-1 win over Fiorentina.

He and his Napoli teammates have recorded a perfect start at the beginning of the 2025-26 season. With a maximum 12 points from their first four league matches, they currently sit alone at the top of the standings, two points clear of their closest challengers, Juventus.
“It’s how I remember it from my season with Atalanta. Football is very tactical here, there are lots of man-to-man duels. The pace is a bit quicker in the Premier League, everyone is fast, strong and physically explosive,” Hojlund told La Repubblica about his return to Serie A.

There are plenty of familiar faces for Hojlund in the Napoli dressing room. There are several former Premier League stars currently starring at the Maradona, including Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne, ex-United, Chelsea and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and his former Manchester United teammate Scott McTominay.
McTominay, in particular, has found overwhelming success since leaving Manchester United to join Napoli last summer, helping the club to the Serie A title in his first season, which was also marked with the league’s MVP award at the end of the campaign.
“He’s always the same Scott in his everyday life, a very good guy, a nice guy,” Hojlund said about his former and current teammate.
“He’s grown a lot on the pitch after playing in Italy. My goal is to replicate his journey.”
