Meanwhile, in the Champions League. Inter have gone well over two years without tasting defeat in front of their own fans.

However, Bayern Munich could take heart from the fact that they were the last team to beat Inter at the San Siro in Europe, in the autumn of 2022.

Inter had broken an imposing undefeated run for Bayern at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League last week. And the Bavarians will have to back themselves to return the favour in the reverse fixture.
