Tim Sherwood believes there will be no shortage of interest in the Sheffield Wednesday job this summer despite their relegation to League One.
Sheffield Wednesday are preparing for life back in League One after their relegation from the Championship was confirmed.
After losing many of their key players in the summer, it was always likely to be an uphill battle for Wednesday to avoid relegation this season, but their task was made even harder after they were deducted a total of 18 points.
A nightmare season for the Owls reached a new low as their fate was sealed following a 2-1 defeat to bitter rivals Sheffield United in the Steel City derby at Bramall Lane on Sunday, and it was the earliest relegation in English football history, with 13 games of the season still to play.
While Wednesday supporters will be hoping that better times are ahead in League One, the club remain in administration after former owner Dejphon Chansiri's exit in October, and it is still unclear whether James Bord's consortium will be given approval by the EFL to complete a takeover.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Bord is hoping to be in control at Hillsborough within the next six weeks, and should he be given the green light, sorting out the future of manager Henrik Pedersen is believed to be a "priority".
Pedersen signed a three-year contract as Owls boss in July when he replaced Danny Rohl, but he has won just one of his 37 games in charge in all competitions, and it remains to be seen whether he will remain in charge in the third tier.

Among those to react to Wednesday's relegation was pundit Tim Sherwood, who made his professional debut for Watford against the Owls in 1987, and he believes the manager's job at Hillsborough will be one of the most attractive in League One next season should the club decide to make a change in the summer.
"It's really, really sad," Sherwood said on Sky Sports.
"Obviously, they are very close to my heart as it's where it all started for me.
"I remember players like Waddle and Hirst, outstanding footballers back in the day there.
"They will be back.
"The positive for those Wednesday fans is that they will be back.
"It is one of the best jobs in League One for anyone who wants to take a manager's job because you'll have new ownership now and can clear the decks.
"They will be back where they belong.
"Where they belong is not the Championship, by the way.
"Where they belong is in the Premier League."

As the approval process drags on, it is still far from certain that Bord will be the next owner of Wednesday, but if he does take over the club, the decision over Pedersen's future will be one of the most crucial he faces.
It is arguably unfair to judge Pedersen on the results this season given that the Owls' squad is woefully under-equipped for the Championship, but his record of just one win in 37 games does not make for good reading, presenting Bord with a big dilemma.
Pedersen is a highly-rated coach, but many Wednesday supporters are not convinced that he is the right man to lead them back to the second tier, and as new owners often make changes in the dugout, the Dane may be worried about his future at Hillsborough.
