Hosts Morocco into the semi-finals after knocking out Cameroon | OneFootball

Morocco progressed to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations with an impressive performance over Cameroon.

The hosts were by far the better team throughout the 90 minutes with Cameroon not having a single shot on target. Indeed, Cameroon struggled to create anything with Morocco doing well to double team any attackers and quickly win the ball back.

The opening goal came in the 26th minute with a corner from the right that Ayoub Kaabi headed down into the path of Brahim Díaz to help the ball into the net.

That goal was Díaz's fifth in as many games as the Real Madrid man has a superb tournament, although he did look like he may be nursing a knock when he was replaced late on.

The lead was doubled in the 74th minute again with a set-piece. This time it was Ade Ezzalzouli whipping in a free-kick delivery that eventually fell to PSV's to finish Ismael Saibari and effectively put the game to bed.

Morocco will now face either Algeria or Nigeria in the semi-finals which will again be played in Rabat on January 14th.
