Robert Lewandowski became the latest victim for Barcelona as the club look to deal with an apparent injury crisis right now.

The veteran forward, who hasn’t had the best of seasons so far, picked up a knock during Poland’s game against Lithuania.

Although the forward played the entire match despite discomfort, it was revealed after the game that the player had picked up a muscle tear.

The former Bayern Munich star was subsequently ruled out for four to six weeks, adding to Barcelona’s frustration.

Lewandowski’s reaction after learning of the injury

Lewandowski wasn’t too pleased after realising that he had picked up a fresh knock and could be out for at least a month.

As reported by Diario SPORT, Eleven Sports’ Polish journalist, Mateusz Swiecicki, has recently revealed how Lewandowski reacted after learning of the injury.

“Oh sh*t. This is a serious problem,” Lewandowski reportedly said after being told that he had picked up a muscle tear.

The Pole’s reaction is warranted given that he is destined to miss out on Barcelona’s all-important Clasico against Real Madrid later this weekend.

The presence of Lewandowski could have been handy for Barcelona, especially considering the fact that the team also lost Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres due to injuries.

Lewandowski, for his part, had a point to prove after a slow start to the season that has led to speculation over his future. An away game against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu could have been the ideal platform for the veteran to prove his doubters wrong.

But as things stand, Lewandowski will miss out on the Clasico, leaving Barcelona coach Hansi Flick with limited options in the attacking unit.

The club will be banking on the return of star player Raphinha, while Lamine Yamal is expected to be more match-fit than he was this past weekend.
