A fresh insight into the plans of the coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid to make use of youngster Arda Güler next season has this week been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Diario AS, and points towards Güler as being prepped for an altogether interesting role in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in 2024/25.

The role in question? Real Madrid’s ‘wild card’.

Güler is for his part of course fresh off a stellar close to what proved a difficult debut campaign in Spain’s capital.

Owing to a head-turning haul of six goals in seven appearances, the widespread assumption, in turn, was that the Turkish international would be utilised chiefly in attack, as close to the opposition goal as possible.

The plans of boss Ancelotti, however, are said to entail much, much more…

As per a report from Diario AS, Güler is expected to be made use of in a whole range of positions over the months ahead:

‘The Turk will be Ancelotti’s wild card for the next campaign, a player capable of appearing in midfield, either as an inside midfielder or as an attacking midfielder, and in attack as a right winger or even up front, a position in which he shone in the recent European Championship.’

Though he remains far from first-choice, such versatility means that the former Fenerbahçe sensation should see plenty of playing time in Real Madrid’s star-studded squad next season.
