Moroccan rising star Othmane Maamma has been crowned Young African Player of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday in Rabat capping remarkable year for the 20 year old.

Maamma played decisive role in Morocco’s historic triumph at the FIFA U20 World Cup where the Atlas Lion became the first African & Arab national team to win the competition.

Women’s award also goes to Morocco

The night was equally memorable for Moroccan women’s football as Doha El Madani won the Young Women’s Player of the Year prize.

The AS FAR forward finished as top scorer in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League leading her club to runner up finish & solidifying her reputation as one of Africa’s most promising attackers.
