The ex-Manchester United midfielder has impressed for the Swans following his summer move
It has been a mixed start to the Championship campaign for Swansea City, who are looking to progress forward as a club following the appointment of Alan Sheehan in what is the Irishman's first full-time managerial role.
Unfortunately for the 39-year-old, he has faced recent calls for the sack from sections of the Swans' fanbase amid a run of one win in the past five second tier outings, with the final encounter leading up to the October international break being a 3-1 home defeat against freshly relegated Leicester City at the Swansea.Com Stadium.
There has been plenty of turnover, both in terms of managers, head coaches and players in recent times in this part of South Wales, and that trend didn't exactly stop in the most recent summer transfer window, which was also the first in that regard since last November's takeover, with the club's ownership structure now fronted by Andy Coleman.
Since then, some high-profile names have also invested into Swansea in the form of former Ballon D'or winner, Luka Modrić and American rap sensation, Snoop Dogg.
As such, there was plenty of excitement when the season began that the Welsh outfit could potentially achieve a first play-off berth since reaching the final at Wembley Stadium in 2021, where they suffered defeat to Brentford under Steve Cooper.
Such hopes were only heightened when the club made several eye-catching transfer acquisitions, including the well-documented addition of Adam Idah from Celtic, as well as Cameron Burgess, Zeidane Inoussa, Manuel Benson and Malick Yalcouye all being added to the squad.
Another strong piece of business was the capture of Northern Irish midfielder, Ethan Galbraith, who moved across the M4 for approximately £1.5m after a stellar season with Leyton Orient last time out.
With that being said, FLW has compared the 24-year-old's ESTIMATED salaries in East London and South Wales.
After progressing through the Old Trafford ranks, Galbraith made just one senior appearance for Manchester United amid loan spells with Doncaster Rovers and Salford City, before leaving the Red Devils in 2023 following the expiration of his contract.
Following the club's League Two title-winning campaign, the Glengormley-born man was reunited with Richie Wellens at Brisbane Road, penning a two-year-contract with the club in the process.
Whilst Capology - a site which ESTIMATES player earnings, contract lengths and further specific details within deals - has no registration of his weekly wage packet at Old Trafford, it claims that Galbraith's first weekly wage sum in the capital was equal to the salary he picked up on loan at Salford, which was a figure of £3,077 that equated to a season-long sum of £160,000.
During his second season with the O's, Galbraith's versatility was a major asset to Wellens and Orient, who addressed a sluggish start to the campaign in remarkable fashion by making the League One play-off final, where they were defeated by Charlton Athletic at Wembley Stadium.
Throughout the campaign, the 24-year-old featured at full-back as well as in deep and advanced central midfield roles, scoring six times and posting as many assists, with Capology figures stating that he had received a wage hike up to £4,500 per week.
Galbraith then saw a club option triggered in a bid to retain his services amid interest from Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United and Charlton Athletic, before he moved to the Swans for the aforementioned £1.5m fee, which is a club-record sale for Orient.
The 11-time international is now featuring in the Championship for the very first time, and it's fair to say he hasn't looked out of place despite an inconsistent start to the campaign for Swansea as a collective.
Once again, the ex-Carrington academy graduate has shown great vision when racking up his first assists for the club, as well as being able to set the tempo of games from the middle of the park.
As such, he drew major praise for his role in Swansea's dramatic EFL Cup success against Nottingham Forest in September, which set up a tie with Manchester City in round four.
Reverting back to finances, it is ESTIMATED that Galbraith's weekly salary at the club is currently £10,000 per week, which adds up to £520,000 across the 46-game season.
This is the same figure which left-back, Josh Tymon, is said to be on, and it is £15,000 behind the club's highest earner, which comes in the form of centre-back Burgess, who joined on a free transfer after leaving Ipswich Town.
