The summer transfer window saw a number of departures from Blackburn Rovers, ahead of the start of the current campaign.

One of those who ultimately made his way out of Ewood Park for pastures new, was goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski.

Having spent the past three years with the Lancashire club, the Belgian would depart in order to get his first chance of Premier League football, joining newly promoted Luton Town on a permanent deal.

But just how have things gone for the 31-year-old, since he completed his move to Kenilworth Road?

In order to help find out, we've taken a look at Kaminski's form and experiences during his time with Luton Town so far - in comparison with his Blackburn career - right here.

How did Kaminski do at Blackburn Rovers?

Kaminski joined Blackburn back in the summer of 2020, signing from Gent in his native Belgium for an undisclosed fee.

The goalkeeper immediately claimed the number one spot between the posts at Ewood Park, and fast established himself as a hugely popular figure at the club.

With a string of excellent performances, Kaminski won Blackburn's Player of the Year award in his debut campaign at the club, despite the remarkable goalscoring exploits of Adam Armstrong.

Kaminski then retained the number one spot at Rovers for the 2021/22 season, as the club claimed an eighth place-finish in the Championship table, missing just two league games during the campaign.

However, after starting the 2022/23 season as first choice once again under new manager Jon Dahl Tomasson, Kaminski was forced to undergo shoulder surgery midway through the campaign.

With Tomasson satisfied with the job done by the man brought in to replace him, Aynsley Pears, the Belgian was unable to force his way back into the starting XI during the final months of last season.

The summer would then bring an end to Kaminski's three-year spell at Ewood Park, during which time he made 118 appearances in all competitions for Blackburn, as his move to Luton was confirmed in early August, for a fee reported to be worth an initial £2.5million.

How have things gone for Kaminski at Luton?

In the end, Kaminski was one of two goalkeepers to join Luton over the summer transfer window, with Tim Krul also making the move to Kenilworth Road, joining from Blackburn's Championship rivals Norwich City.

But while Krul, unlike Kaminski, has previous Premier League experience from his time with the likes of Newcastle United and Norwich, it is the Belgian who looks to be first choice for Rob Edwards' side right now.

So far this season, Kaminski has completed every minute of all 12 Premier League games that Luton have played since the start of the campaign.

Admittedly, that has forced the 31-year-old to endure some tough moments, with the Hatters yet to keep a clean sheet in the league, conceding 22 goals and winning just one of those matches, meaning they are currently 18th in the table.

Despite that, Kaminski himself has largely impressed, keeping the Hatters in games as much as possible with some outstanding saves and impressive performances, that have seen him win the club's Man of the Match award on more than one occasion.

That has ensured that Kaminski has continued to keep his place in the Belgium international squad, and he will no doubt have an eye on earning a first international cap, and a place in his nation's squad for Euro 2024 squad next summer.

In that sense, the fact that he is now producing this form in the top-flight of English football, is something that should only help his cause.

As a result, while this looks like being a tough campaign for Luton and Kaminski, if he can continue to impress in the way he has been recently, then that move from Blackburn could - in some respects at least - still end up being seen as a profitable one for the goalkeeper.
