Kamil Jozwiak was regarded as a talented signing with plenty of potential when he joined Derby County but it never quite worked out that way.
He arrived in England to some hype, especially considering the fee that the Rams offered for his services. With the player having impressed for Lech Poznan, the signs were there that he could be a really exciting signing for the Pride Park outfit.
However, his first season produced just three goal contributions in 40 league outings, as the club struggled at the wrong end of the table. With a year’s worth of experience under his belt, the hope was probably that he would improve in his second season but another 17 showings resulted in just one assist.

It prompted Derby to offload him earlier this year – no surprise as the club were struggling financially. They allowed him to join Charlotte FC in the MLS – but how is he getting on since leaving the Rams?
He’s producing similar numbers to those that he managed at Pride Park and he hasn’t hit the ground running as he would have liked in America.
He’s played 16 times for his new club so far – with eleven starts – but even a change in competition and country hasn’t brought more out of the winger. He’s still managed just one assist to date with no goals and it currently matches his worst-ever tally for a season in which he has managed over ten appearances.
If you look at his stats compared to others in his position as well in the MLS (via FBRef) it’s clear to see that he is continuing to struggle. Jozwiak is managing decent numbers when it comes to his defensive efforts (87th percentile for tackles and blocks) but looking at more of the kind of things you would expect from a winger getting forward, he has struggled. For example, he ranks in only the 39% percentile for Non-Penalty xG and his rate is even worse for assists (24% percentile).
Jozwiak is still only young and has time to improve but since leaving Derby, it still hasn’t been plain sailing for the player.
