Following the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign, Stoke City opted to engage in a great deal of transfer activity over the course of the summer window.
As well as securing the services of a host of fresh faces, the Potters waved goodbye to some of the individuals who represented them in the previous term.
One of the players who was allowed to leave the bet365 Stadium on a temporary basis was Mario Vrancic.
The midfielder was loaned out to HNK Rijeka in June.
Here, we have decided to take a look at how Vrancic has been getting on away from Stoke with the Croatian outfit…
Signed by the Potters in 2021, Vrancic managed to show some signs of promise in the Championship last season.
Despite the fact that Vrancic is clearly capable of making a difference at this level, former Stoke boss Michael O’Neill decided to sanction an exit earlier this year.
Since making the switch to Rijeka, Vrancic has represented the club in two different competitions.
The former Norwich City man made his debut for his new side in a league clash with HNK Sibenik in July before going on to feature in the qualifying stage of the Europa Conference League.

Rijeka were eliminated by Swedish outfit Djurgardens IF as they suffered a 4-1 aggregate defeat.
Although Vrancic has yet to score for Rijeka, he did provide an assist for team-mate Nikita Vlasenko in the club’s clash with Dinamo Zagreb.
This particular goal turned out to be a consolation as Dinamo Zagreb sealed a 3-1 victory in front of their own supporters.
After making seven appearances in the SuperSport HNL, Vrancic was forced to watch on from the bench for his side’s recent meeting with Sibenik.
The midfielder will be hoping to force his way back into Rijeka’s starting eleven for this weekend’s clash with Hajduk Split.
