Giovanni Leoni has yet to return to the pitch after suffering a serious injury during his first match for Liverpool, but Juventus remains interested in signing the defender.
The Bianconeri regard Leoni as a major talent and have not forgotten losing out to Liverpool in the race for his signature a year ago. Juventus now wants to bring him to Turin and add him to its squad.
The Old Lady sees Leoni as a top defensive player, and he could be open to the possibility of returning to Italy. However, it is difficult to imagine Liverpool allowing him to leave easily, as the club considers his signing an investment for the future.
Liverpool is happy to give Leoni the time he needs to recover and regain his form. That patience could eventually create an opening for Juventus, particularly if the defender struggles to find regular opportunities once he is fit again.
The Reds know they have a promising player on their hands and are unlikely to make a quick decision about his future. Nevertheless, Juventus believes the situation could change if Leoni is unable to establish himself in the first team.
Tuttojuve reports that the Bianconeri are waiting to see whether Leoni can find space to play at Liverpool when he returns. If the club struggles to give him sufficient opportunities, Juventus will reportedly move quickly.

Juventus is aware that Inter Milan wants to beat it to Leoni’s signature. The Bianconeri therefore know they may face strong competition if Liverpool becomes willing to discuss a transfer.
The key issue is whether Leoni receives the playing time he needs at Anfield. Liverpool will have little reason to sell if the defender becomes part of its plans, but his situation could become different if he remains on the fringes of the squad.
Juventus will continue monitoring his recovery and his prospects at Liverpool. If regular football is not available, the Bianconeri could attempt to secure a deal, although Inter’s interest could make the competition more difficult.
