How Lamine Yamal could become the highest-paid player in Barcelona’s squad with new contract | OneFootball

Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal could secure for himself a place atop the club’s wage scale over the years ahead.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Toni Juanmarti of Diario Sport, who has provided an insight into some of the details of the winger’s new deal.

Wide-man Lamine has of course taken his place back centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last 24 hours.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that a total agreement has been reached between the 17-year-old and the Barcelona board, over a new long-term contract.

Lamine’s fresh terms are expected to run through the summer of 2031, featuring a pay rise in line with his increasing prominence in Hansi Flick’s squad.

So much so that, as per the aforementioned report from Sport:

‘Lamine could become the highest-paid player in the squad if a series of performance-based variables included in the new contract are factored in, including winning the Ballon d’Or.’
