West Ham will have the biggest home stadium in the Championship next season
West Ham are preparing for life in the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League.
The Hammers finished 18th in the table, missing out on survival by just two points, ending a 14-year stint in the top flight.
Nuno Espírito Santo will be aiming to guide the team back to the first division at the first opportunity next season.
The Portuguese coach has experience of winning the Championship before, having led Wolves to top spot in 2018.
This will also be West Ham’s first campaign outside of the Premier League since moving into the London Stadium in 2016.
It means that the Irons will be competing in the biggest home stadium of any side in the division, with Middlesbrough’s the Riverside being the second biggest at a capacity of roughly 33,000.

West Ham have confirmed that they have reached the 42,000 mark for season ticket sales for next season.
There is still time for supporters to renew their ticket, with general admission to open in a couple of days, meaning the figure could climb even higher between now and the beginning of the campaign.
The number of season tickets exceeds the capacity of any other home ground in the Championship for the upcoming campaign.
Supporters have expressed their pride at the backing the club has received from the fans despite their relegation from the Premier League.
The changes behind the scenes have been credited for lifting the mood around the stadium, with Daniel Kretinsky becoming the new majority shareholder.
There is an optimism surrounding West Ham that some fans believe could only be possible as a result of the changes that have come from being relegated.
West Ham will host their first home league game of the new campaign on 22 August against Charlton Athletic.

West Ham will renew their rivalry with Millwall this season, with the two sides set to meet for the first time in 14 years.
And the Lions have already confirmed that they have sold 12,000 season tickets following their play-off semi-final disappointment.
Fans will be hoping that Alex Neil’s side can fight for promotion again in the upcoming campaign after they finished third in the Championship in 2025/26.
Fellow relegated sides Burnley and Wolves are also likely to be in the promotion mix for next season.
The Clarets reportedly sold around 15,000 season tickets in the first week after sales started in May, although it is unclear how many more have been purchased since then.
Meanwhile, Wolves confirmed that they sold out their allocation of season tickets at a total of 21,906 despite coming bottom of the Premier League table.
And play-off finalists Middlesbrough also revealed that they reached 19,000 season tickets sold, with the club looking to fight for promotion again in 2027 after losing to Hull City at Wembley Stadium.
But no club in the division can compare with the 42,000 tickets sold by West Ham, with the London Stadium capable of holding roughly 62,000 supporters.
