The forward was a key figure for the Saints this season, and remains their top scorer in the Championship even after his departure.

It was reported that the Premier League side paid a figure of £7 million to sign the 29-year-old on a three-year deal.

The top flight club will be hoping that Armstrong can have a big impact under Rob Edwards, with the team already likely planning for life in the Championship next season.

Here we use estimated figures from Capology to look at what the striker is now earning following his deadline day move from Southampton to Molineux.

Armstrong signed a three year deal with Wolves, keeping him at the club until June 2029.

Edwards’ side are sitting bottom of the Premier League table, and are likely to suffer relegation this term given the gap to safety that’s already been built.

But Armstrong’s experience in the Championship will be key to the club earning their way back to the top flight promptly.

It is with that in mind that the top flight team have given the 29-year-old a salary worth £65,000 per week.

Armstrong is not the best paid player in the Wolves squad, with that honour going to Joao Gomes.

The Brazilian has a deal with the Midlands outfit valued at £105,000 per week, and he is the only player in the squad making six figures a week.

Other high earners in Edwards’ squad include Emmanuel Agbadou, Toti Gomes, Tolu Arokodare, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Hee-chan Hwang.

Agbadou receives £85,000 per week, while Gomes is on £80,000 and Bellegarde and Arokodare both earn £75,000-a-week.

Meanwhile, Hwang receives £70,000-a-week, leaving Armstrong as the seventh best paid player in the team.

Armstrong’s £65,000 per week from Wolves means that he is now better paid than any player in the Southampton squad.

The best paid player in Tonda Eckert’s team is currently Finn Azaz, who joined the club from Middlesbrough last summer.

The Ireland international is on a wage worth £50,000 per week, with Mads Roerslev behind him second earning £40,000-a-week.

Cameron Archer, Alex McCarthy and Jack Stephens are all also receiving £40,000 per week from the Saints, who are contending for promotion from the Championship this season.

Armstrong contributed 11 goals and four assists this season prior to his move to Wolves, four more goals than the next best player.

His total of 15 goals and assists is also four greater than the next best, which is Azaz with 11.

The playmaker has proven a smart addition to the side after he arrived late in the summer in a deal worth a reported £15 million.

But it’s been a tougher first season at St. Mary’s for Roerslev, who also arrived late in the summer market.
