La Liga giants Barcelona require a considerable boost on the funds front, if they hope to be able to operate normally on the transfer market this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.

Barcelona, fresh off securing a domestic treble under the watch of Hansi Flick this past season, have of course been tipped as a potential landing spot for a whole host of players across the continent over recent weeks.

This comes with Deco and co. working towards building a squad capable of sustaining a challenge for glory in the Champions League.

In turn, it may come as something of a surprise to hear that, before they can buy, the Blaugrana will likely need to sell.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Barça need to earn around 50 million euros to operate normally in the summer transfer market which opens on July 1. The quickest and easiest formula to achieve them is the sale of one of their players.’

A high-profile departure from Hansi Flick’s squad over the coming weeks therefore cannot be ruled out.
