An insight into the financial rewards secured by Spanish football’s leading clubs for their participation in last season’s Champions League campaign has on Friday been forthcoming online.
And it will come as little surprise to learn that Real Madrid brought in more money on the part of UEFA than any other club.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops triumphed on the continent once again in 2023/24, besting Borussia Dortmund in the tournament finale to further extend their lead as the most successful club in Champions League history.
And for as much, as per Marca, Los Blancos were handed a cool €141 million by tournament organisers, UEFA.
Turning attentions towards Barcelona, the Catalans were sent packing from Europe at the quarter-final stage at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain last season.
This meant a payout of around €102 million, the sixth most of any club.
And Atlético Madrid were close behind in seventh, handed €95 million for their journey to the Champions League quarter-finals.
