The Belgian-born Moroccan international hasn't played for the club since December 2025
Queens Park Rangers’ 6-1 demolishing of Portsmouth FC was a display of attacking brilliance.
Yet given the amount of injuries the R's forward line has sustained this season, there can't have been any fans at all that predicted the same score before a ball was kicked.
For example, Ilias Chair is one attacker that remains on the West London club's injury list who would've thrived in a game like Saturday's when fit, but he hasn't played since December.
In truth, just over a year on from Chair committing his future to the club on a long-term deal at Loftus Road, the club find themselves at a potential crossroads with the attacking midfielder.
The above tweet of a fan asking where the Belgian-born attacker is was posted directly to the full-time graphic from the Portsmouth game.

Chair has long been viewed as one of QPR’s standout performers, who, when at his best, can dictate games at Championship level on his own. Which does explain why he's played over 260 times in a Rangers shirt.
However, this season has been underwhelming by his standards, with just one goal in 11 league appearances. Yes, this is primarily down to his well-documented injuries, but no update in a month regarding this very issue has left fans wondering what's happening to him.
Of course, the off-field troubles have to be mentioned as well, but again, without an official update, spending all this time away from first-team action could make a summer exit possible at the end of the season.
Leicester City were reportedly keen on bringing Chair to the King Power Stadium in 2023 as a potential replacement for James Maddison, who was closing in on his big-money move to Tottenham.
The fact that such a move never materialised, and that he now finds himself in a more uncertain position, only adds to the sense that his story at Loftus Road has not followed the trajectory many anticipated.

According to Capology estimates, Ilias Chair is on an estimated base salary of £6,923 per week for 25/26. Over the course of a full season, that equates to an estimated £360,000 per year before bonuses, clauses or appearance-related incentives are taken into account.
Within that structure, Chair sits surprisingly low considering his status and profile at Loftus Road. He is currently listed as just the 17th-highest earner at QPR, which shows how modest his terms are relative to some of his teammates.
At the top end of the scale, Steve Cook is recorded as the club’s estimated highest-paid player on an estimated £30,000 per week, while at the other extreme of the senior squad, young forward Rayan Kolli is estimated to earn £500 per week.
It is also important to stress that, as things stand, there is nothing concrete to suggest a summer move is already in motion. But from the player’s perspective, a move could offer the full reset he may now need.
