Swansea's asking price for in-demand forward Zan Vipotnik has been revealed amid emerging interest from Rangers and others
Swansea City have endured an inconsistent campaign as another mid-table finish awaits the Welsh side, who will be heading into this summer's transfer window fearing one inevitable saga.
Although Swansea are sure to be identifying the off-season and the summer window as an ample opportunity for popular head coach Vitor Matos to shape the squad in his mold and bolster the options at his disposal to support a potential play-off charge in what will be his first full term in charge, they will be sweating over the future of Zan Vipotnik in equal measure.
The Slovenian striker has enjoyed sensational goalscoring form throughout his second campaign in South Wales after arriving from Bordeaux in the summer of 2024, with an increasing number of suitors likely to be placing themselves on red alert.
After finding the back of the net on just seven occasions from 42 Championship appearances in the 2024/25 season, Vipotnik has emerged among the most lethal forwards outside of the Premier League with 16 divisional goals and counting, placing him right at the top of the second-tier scoring charts.
With 18 goals across all competitions leading the line for a side currently positioned in 16th place and with what now represent mere ambitions of securing a top-half finish, Swansea's retention power is weakening and all signs suggest that the 23-year-old will become an extremely hot property once the summer rolls around.
They may, however, have a significant cash windfall impending for his sought-after services following a fresh reveal.
Vipotnik has been a reported target on the wishlists of admirers elsewhere for some time now, with West Ham United and a series of unnamed Serie A outfits having been linked with the in-form striker ahead of January.

More recently, though, it was revealed on Tuesday morning by Football FanCast that Scottish giants Rangers are leading the emerging race for Vipotnik's signature over top-flight pair Nottingham Forest and Sunderland in preparation for a potential bidding war this coming summer.
It's said that Rangers' ability to offer European football is providing them a crucial advantage over Forest and Sunderland at this moment in time, but any deal for the 22-cap Slovenian international is unlikely to come cheap.
That's because a subsequent report from WalesOnline has detailed that Swansea's valuation of Vipotnik sits in the region of £15 million, with the Championship outfit in a reasonably-strong position right now owing to the fact that his deal has a further two years still to run.
The Swans would, of course, run the risk of losing Vipotnik at a considerably lower cost next summer, where he would be in the final year of his contract in SA1, which means a deal could be necessitated this summer if the talisman opts against penning fresh terms to hand his employers additional security.
It's a situation which the likes of Rangers and others may just be monitoring considering the potential of landing him for a cheaper fee in more than twelve months' time, but if they want a deal this summer, Swansea hold the cards and any agreement will be controlled by the key decision-makers at the Swansea.com Stadium.
One would imagine that it's unlikely Vipotnik would find himself too begrudged by the Jack Army faithful if he does indeed decide to venture towards pastures new in the months to come, having proven his worth as a top-grade Championship striker with further room for improvement owing to his age.

Swansea landed Vipotnik for nothing after Bordeaux entered administration and rescinded their professional status, and £15 million is a very healthy fee to collect when we're discussing a Championship outfit who have seldom troubled the promotion picture in recent years.
This summer naturally represents Swansea's best, and perhaps only real chance of collecting a fee befitting of Vipotnik's importance, output, age and potential, and the ex-Maribor starlet has certainly merited the opportunity to transition and test himself at top-flight level after providing the goalscoring edge to keep his side's heads firmly above the relegation waters.
