It has been exclusively revealed by FLW that the two Championship rivals are considering an approach for the ex-Plymouth Argyle forward ahead of the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old joined the Red Dragons in the summer following their promotion from League One, and the Pilgrims’ relegation to the third division.

But so far he has made just five appearances in Phil Parkinson’s side, with the striker struggling for game time and potentially ready to move away from the Racecourse Ground already.

Here we use estimated figures from Capology to see what kind of wages Hull or Blackburn may need to pay in order to sign Hardie this January…

Ryan Hardie’s Wrexham wages

Hardie made the switch to Wrexham last summer, with the club now competing in the second tier of English football for the first time since 1982.

He was one of many signings, with the Welsh outfit investing heavily in the squad ahead of their step up to the Championship.

But the 28-year-old has made just five appearances from the opening 19 fixtures, including only two starts, and he has yet to register a goal or an assist in that limited time.

Hardie signed a contract until the summer of 2028 as part of his move to Wrexham, which included a wage of £10,000 per week.

This was a step up from the £5,000-a-week he was earning at Plymouth prior to his exit from Home Park at the end of last season.

The highest earner in Parkinson’s side is currently Kieffer Moore, who is in direct competition with Hardie for game time.

The Welshman was a big money signing from Sheffield United in the summer, and he receives £30,000 per week from the Championship side as a result of that move.

The likes of Jay Rodriguez and Josh Windass are also earning more than Hardie at Wrexham, with the pair being paid £25,000 and £15,000 per week, respectively.

Blackburn Rovers and Hull City’s Ryan Hardie stance

It was exclusively revealed by FLW last week that they are seeking a move for Hardie in the upcoming January window.

The market is set to open in just a few weeks, which could offer the forward a pathway back to regular football.

It’s believed that he is open to a departure from Wrexham already, despite signing for the club in the summer, as he seeks consistent first team minutes.

While Hardie was the first signing of the window for the Red Dragons, subsequent deals for the likes of Moore, Windass and Rodriguez has left him far down the pecking order.

Wrexham have made a strong start to life in the second tier, with the side sitting in the top half of the table through the first 19 games.
