Sunderland begin their FA Cup campaign at Everton on Saturday lunchtime, with a six-figure incentive on offer if they advance.

According to Sunderland Echo, third-round winners bank £121,500, while losers receive £26,500 from the tie at Goodison Park.

Sunderland have progressed beyond this stage only once in their past 10 attempts. Head coach Regis Le Bris oversaw a third-round exit to Stoke City last season and wants a decent run this time. He wants to balance selection and go strong given the lighter schedule than a European campaign.

From there, making and winning the fourth round would be worth a further £127,000. Fifth-round winners receive £238,500, and quarter-final victors secure £477,000.

Semi-final winners collect £1,060,000, while losing semi-finalists earn £530,000.

At Wembley, the runners-up take home £1,060,000, and the winners receive £2,120,000.
