Striker Zian Flemming has been linked with a move away from Burnley following their relegation, so here's how much he was on at Turf Moor in 2025-26.
Burnley striker Zian Flemming has been linked with a move away from Turf Moor following an exceptional season despite their relegation.
Their 2025-26 return to the Premier League may only have been brief, but one Burnley player ended the season with his reputation significantly enhanced.
Striker Zian Flemming earned plaudits after scoring 11 goals in 29 appearances for the Clarets over the course of the season, and their relegation has inevitably meant rumours that he could be leaving the club this summer to keep his Premier League ambitions alive.
With parachute payments cushioning their fall back into the Championship and the prospect of receiving almost £40 million in compensation from Everton after a court case found in their favour over PSR breaches, Burnley will start the new season in a relatively comfortable financial position, but they will still want to extract the maximum fee that they can, should they have to sell.
But part of the appeal of staying in the Premier League for the player will be the prospect of maintaining a higher wage, and any club looking to sign Flemming will have to negotiate with him as well as his club, so with this all in mind, here's how much he was on at Burnley throughout the 2025-26 season.

Premier League players demand Premier League wages, and estimates of Zian Flemming's income throughout the 2025-26 season at Burnley indicate that signing him would be a substantial financial commitment on wages as well as any transfer fee that would be payable.
Capology estimate that Flemming was on £20,000-a-week at Burnley throughout this time, a figure which doesn't include any bonus payments that may have been payable.
They also confirm that there would be little prospect of the Burnley striker leaving the club without a substantial transfer fee being paid for, with there still being three years left to run on his contract and no indication that the player has a relegation release clause written into it.
This puts a huge amount of control over the player's future into the hands of his club. Burnley will be under no obligation to sell Flemming at a price that doesn't match their valuation of him.

Goals are the most valuable currency in the Premier League, and not only did Zian Flemming provide them for Burnley throughout the 2025-26 season, but he did so in a team which was otherwise struggling to score them.
To achieve a double-digit goalscoring tally throughout the season in this division is no mean feat at the best of times, and the fact that Flemming managed 11 of them in just 29 appearances despite his team winning just four Premier League matches all season has meant that the future of the striker has come under the spotlight since Burnley's relegation was confirmed.
The Clarets were the second-lowest goalscorers in the Premier League above Wolverhampton Wanderers, with just 38 scored in 38 games, and Flemming's 11 goals accounted for almost 29% of their overall tally for the season. Since teams struggling near the foot of the table tend to have less possession and create fewer chances over the course of a season, Flemming's achievement is all the more noteworthy for him having done so for a team that was otherwise not performing well.
Leeds United had been loosely connected to a move for the player, but this talk has cooled of late, with Football Insider reporting that " the Elland Road hierarchy doesn't seem to have the attacker on their radar." But if this is the case, it's unlikely to be Flemming's wages that are the issue. £20,000-a-week is a fairly high wage by Championship standards, but it isn't for a goalscoring striker in the Premier League.
And it only takes a look at the Premier League's top scorers table for the season to see just what an achievement his 11 goals throughout 2025-26 were. Flemming ended the season having scored more goals than such established star players as Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa, Cole Palmer of Chelsea, and Matheus Cunha of Manchester United. His eleven goals also left him on the same total as two other United stars, Benjamin Szesko and Bryan Mbeumo.
Even if the interest of Leeds United has lessened, it remains the case that Zian Flemming could be in demand by other Premier League clubs over the course of this summer. But with Burnley under no obligation to sell and the player himself unlikely to have excessive wage demands, it might be that anyone courting his signature will find his club driving a hard bargain, should they wish to keep the player in the Premier League for 2026-27.
