The forward contributed 10 goals and six assists for the Pilgrims, but it wasn’t enough for the club to remain in the second division.

A three point deficit to Hull City meant that Miron Muslic’s side suffered a 23rd place finish, ending their two-year stint at this level.

The departure of Bundu came as a real blow to Plymouth, who saw a number of key players depart in the summer but potentially none as significant as the 28-year-old.

Here we take a look at how Bundu has fared with Hannover in the time since his exit from Home Park in the summer…

It is still early days, but Hannover have made a promising start to the new 2. Bundesliga season, with the team eyeing a return to the top flight.

The German club have not been in the Bundesliga since their one-year stint back in the 2018/19 campaign, where they finished 17th.

They will be hoping Bundu has what it takes to power the team to the top division, and he has settled into a prominent role in the side to start the new term.

While he has yet to contribute a goal or assist, the forward has started each of their opening five league games.

His competitive debut for the club came in a home victory over Kaiserslautern in which he featured for 69 minutes, with the side winning 1-0.

This started a four match streak of victories, with Bundu playing a total of 263 minutes across the fixtures.

Hannover earned results against Dusseldorf, Magdeburg and Holstein Kiel, but suffered a defeat in their fifth game of the campaign, losing 3-0 to Hertha Berlin following the return to action from the international break.

Instagram page back in August.

“Amazing start to the season in front of our fantastic fans,” he wrote.

“Thanks for the support today and the warm welcome.”

Bundu’s performances for Hannover earned him a callup to the Sierra Leone international team during the September break.

The forward was not selected to play in their 1-1 draw against Guinea-Bissau, but he started in their 2-0 win over Ethiopia just a few days later.

The results left Sierra Leone with a lot of work to do to qualify for the World Cup next year, with the team sitting third in their qualifying group.

First will go straight to North America next summer, while the best second placed teams will earn a second shot with a play-off.

However, with just two games remaining, Bundu and his international teammates are three points behind Burkina Faso.
