Recent form

Arsenal come into the match with four wins from four in the Champions League, including victories over Athletic Club and Olympiacos. Their most recent result in all competitions was a 4-1 thrashing of Tottenham in the north London derby that sent them six points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Bayern Munich have also won every match in the Champions League this season so far. This run includes wins over Chelsea and PSG. And just like Arsenal, they are six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga after their 6-2 win over SC Freiburg.

What’s been said?

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on the importance of the fixture: “This is the kind of game that we want to face, and we’ve been very consistent,” he said. “They have been as well; tomorrow is a great test for us to see where we are.

“Every opponent brings different challenges; they are in a great moment. The level of consistency they show in resource, performance, in every metric that they have is very, very impressive.”

Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany on his side’s perfect record going into the fixture: “We won our first four matches,” he said. Which was important. So far, we’ve done what we set out to do, and we hope that this continues.

“But playing against this team will be the most difficult task we face at the moment. We’re happy about that – that’s why we’re here, that’s what we want.”
